A large number of props
Over the years of working as a newborn photographer, I have collected a considerable amount of props - about 500 pieces. I have two hundred blankets, bodysuits and headbands, more than fifty fabric backgrounds, and a lot of clothes, buckets, bowls, baskets, nests... All of them are handmade by craftsmen from Ukraine, America, Spain, Poland, the Czech Republic, Denmark, and other countries.

Professional studio
My studio for newborn photo shoots is bright, warm and spacious (total area 60 square meters). The main workspace is a shooting area with constant and flashing light to get high-quality and bright photos. For parents, there is an area with a sofa where they can relax, drink coffee or tea and connect to Wi-Fi. Also, while parents are being photographed, they can view samples of photo books and other products in the studio.

Security
The main priority in my work is always the safety and comfort of children. The studio is designed for photographing newborns and children under 1 year old. The room has a recirculator for air disinfection. Before each shooting, a wet cleaning is carried out. The studio is regularly ventilated. During the photo shoot, a special temperature regime is set to make newborns feel comfortable.

Sterility
All props used during filming are washed or scalded and stored only in a clean form. To care for the baby, the studio has a special changing table and navel care products. Parents are often in a state of excitement after the birth of a baby and therefore may forget some details.

My name is Victoria Medinska, I am a newborn photographer in the city of Krakow. That's now. But before that...
...In my childhood, there were magical rooms with red light...
I have been doing newborn photoshoots since 2017. Family and children's photoshoots - since 2015. But my passion for photography was born much earlier in my childhood. My aunt was a professional family photographer. I happily posed for her and I was fascinated when I watched the film develop without understanding the essence of chemical process at that time. I remember the room with red light very well. God forbid anyone to enter there and expose the film. It was real magic for me.
…My passion for photography appeared with the birth of my first child...
I wanted to have my first child in different costumes, with every beautiful flower and every smile. My love for photography began to grow with geometric progression. I realized how fast children grow and change and how important it is to keep all the stages of their growing up in memory. I didn't have a professional camera then.There were no social networks where the best shots were posted .My first photos were printed on paper and put into a photo album. Later, looking through these photo albums became one of the main events during family holidays.

…I took a lot of photos…
By the time my second child was born, social media was actively growing. Photos were posted there. Then my brother bought himself a new camera and gave me his semi-professional Sony. I started taking a lot of pictures, I was fascinated by different styles... My friends asked me to take photos of their children.
…My vision of photography was turned upside down by newborn style photos...
Having understood the structure of cameras, I bought more and more advanced equipment for shooting. And then one day a friend invited me to an event for pregnant women. During the break, photos of a newborn baby were shown on the screen in newborn style. It was as if warm sunlight was shining on me, the aura of these photos was so attractive. I reconsidered my vision of photography and realized what truly inspired me. It turned out to be newborn baby photography.
…I attended numerous workshops and educational courses…
I started learning purposefully, taking courses, attending workshops. To guarantee the safety and comfort of the babies during the shooting, I studied with the best specialists in this field (Natalia Horbachenko/ Kyiv, Natalia Ignatova/ Moscow, Olena Parfinchuk/ Rivne, Marta Ponsko/ Warsaw, Anna Bondareva - artistic processing/ Pyatigorsk).
…I opened a specialized studio for my little models…
Now my main activity is newborn photography. I also take photos of children and conduct maternity photo shoots in Krakow. I am always glad to see happy parents with model babies and expectant mothers "waiting for a miracle" in my cozy studio.

…A special atmosphere of warmth, light and comfort is created…
During the shoots , I use natural poses, taking into account the mood and physiology of the baby. My studio is filled with special props. These are blankets, baskets, tubs, cribs, wraps, pants, hats, headbands... Among them are handmade products by craftsmen from America, Spain, the Czech Republic, Poland and of course Ukraine, made to my individual order. I always prepare for a shoot in advance, trying to make it unique and individual.

Preparation for a newborn photo shoot:
How and when to schedule for a photo session?
I recommend to schedule for a newborn baby shoot in advance during pregnancy, when the baby is born, we are guaranteed to find a free day for the shoot. I make a preliminary appointment which is based on the pregnancy due date, we will agree the exact day of shootingi in the first days after the birth. If you have not had time to sign up before the birth of the baby, please contact me as early as possible and I will try to find for you a free shooting day in my schedule.
At what age is a newborn photo shoot done?
Newborns are typically photographed within the first two weeks of life, ideally between 7-12 days. During this period, babies often sleep a lot and deeply, without being bothered by tummy discomfort. Poses like «in the mother's tummy »are comfortable and natural for them. Older babies have a more sensitive sleep pattern, and they might be troubled by colic, making the photo session process more difficult to achieve the desired results.
Where does the photo shoot take place?
The photoshoot takes place in my own newborn photography studio, where everything is designed to make the session as comfortable as possible for both the baby and the parents. Before each shoot there is wet cleaning, airing of the room and then the studio is warmed up to the necessary comfortable temperature. The studio has professional studio lighting, a large selection of studio backgrounds, a large number of props. The studio has a cozy area for parents, convenient for feeding the baby.
Why don't I do location shootings at parents' house?
The newborn photo shoot genre is quickly taking popularity.Hundreds of babies have visited my studio and their parents have confirmed that it's not only safe but also much more comfortable than having the session at home. A newborn photography studio is a space designed primarily for the comfort of babies and also for high-quality results.

The studio is warm.The comfortable temperature for working with newborns is 25-28°C

The studio is clean.Dry and wet cleaning is done before each shoot. Air recirculator is also used.

The studio is comfortable for parents.In the studio there is a large sofa, where it is convenient to rest and feed the baby. Bathroom. Kettle for heating water, heater feeding bottles, humidifier. All the props at your fingertips. It’s impossible to bring such an arsenal to your home.

There are always diapers, blankets, wipes, and disinfectants in the studio.

The studio has professional studio lighting and offers a great selection of studio backgrounds. It is located in a quiet space, and guests really enjoy being there.
How to prepare for a photo shoot?
There is no need to prepare for the shoot. All necessary props are available in the studio and are included in the cost of the photo session. If parents have certain wishes on the color palette or elements of props, we discuss it before the photo session. Parents only need to bring individual items for the baby and plan outfits for family shots.
How are the props chosen for shooting?
I choose the props for each shoot myself, so that the photo shoots of the kids would be as diverse as possible. If the parents have certain wishes on the color palette , some elements they particularly like, we discuss this the day before the session. I always take their wishes into account when preparing for the shoot.
How long does the shoot last?
As a rule, a photo session lasts about 3 - 4 hours with breaks for feeding and lullabying . I always adapt to the baby’s regime, so the duration of the photo session does not always depend on the chosen package, but depends more on the baby's desire to sleep: when the baby sleeps well, then the shooting takes less time, and if on the contrary the baby is worried about something or just awake, then the lullabying may take more time.
What if the baby won't sleep at the photo shoot?
First of all, you should not worry that the baby does not sleep on arrival to the studio. This is absolutely normal ,some of the babies continue to sleep after the road, but most often we start our work with feeding, after which all babies fall asleep in different ways. Some of them fall asleep almost immediately, while others may need more than an hour. During this time, we just walk with the baby, we can take family shots, open-eye shots. Babies up to 14 days old cannot stay awake for long and thanks to my experience of working with newborns ,I know how to create comfortable conditions for babies and they fall asleep faster. And if the baby's temperament is naturally not a deep sleeper or has a very sensitive sleep, or has already started to have tummy discomfort, do not worry because a photographer with experience will take beautiful photos, shooting within the minimum package.
Is it possible to take a photo of the baby with the parents?
Yes, of course. Regardless of the chosen package, we will take a photo of the baby with parents or siblings if there are older children in the family.
Do you agree to publish the photo?
Each photo shoot is a unique creative process in which I certainly put a piece of my soul. It is very important for me to share the results of my work with others, colleagues and potential clients. Places of publication: my portfolio on the website, Instagram and Facebook pages. If you don't mind seeing your baby or kids on my pages, we will sign a model release with you.

How long does it take to process photos?
The processing time for photos is 1.5 months. Photos in electronic form are sent to customers as a link to GoogleDisk. Printed photos and photo products which are attached to this package are sent by Polish Post.

Preparing for a baby photo shoot
General recommendations:
In shooting older babies, it is important to have a good mood of the child, so when choosing the time of shooting, take into account the child's mode, so that the baby is well-fed and awake (avoiding their daytime sleep).
Please plan your time and route to the studio in advance to avoid the risk of being late and the associated rush. If you are late, we may not be able to reschedule the shoot and guarantee the full result, as I usually schedule several baby shoots in one day.
What you need to prepare:
If the chosen package includes family photos, it's important to plan your outfits that match one of the baby's sets.
In addition to clothing, please bring it with you to the shoot:
- a bag with supplies for the baby;
- drinks, snacks for the child;
- favorite toys of the child, recorded songs on your phone to attract the child's attention during the photo shoot.
